Yes — all travel from within the City of Bellingham is included, including for your rehearsal. If your ceremony or rehearsal takes place outside the Bellingham area, I’ll calculate any mileage and ferry costs in advance, and these will be clearly included in our agreement. Once finalized, no additional travel fees will be added later — everything is covered.

While it’s never happened, I believe in being prepared for anything. If I were ever unable to officiate due to illness or emergency, I have a small circle of trusted, licensed colleagues — warm, experienced officiants who share my approach and values.

Your ceremony will already be fully written by me, based on everything we’ve shaped together. If needed, one of my colleagues would step in and deliver it with the same heart and care — ensuring that your day unfolds just as we planned.

I always recommend — and gently encourage — having a rehearsal. That’s why it’s included in my services. It’s not about perfection; it’s about peace of mind.

If your venue isn’t available for a rehearsal, don’t worry. All we really need is a space where we can imagine a front, practice a walk down the aisle, and get everyone comfortable in their roles.  We can have a lovely rehearsal in a living room, a condo courtyard, a restaurant, or the quiet corner of a public park.

Wherever we gather, the goal is the same: to make sure everyone feels relaxed, confident, and ready when the big moment arrives.

Once we’ve met and you’ve decided to book me, I’ll send you an email with a link to an easy, secure online payment portal. You can pay by credit card. I ask for a 50% retainer to hold your date, and the remaining 50% isn’t due until we’ve nearly completed your ceremony script — after you’ve had a chance to review it and help shape it. That’s when I begin weaving in your story and reaching out to loved ones who might want to contribute.

You’ll apply for the marriage license yourselves — but don’t worry, I’ll guide you through exactly how and when to do it. Once the ceremony is complete, I take care of all the legal handling and make sure your signed license is registered with the proper county office.

As soon as you know your date! Summer weekends in particular fill up quickly. I recommend reaching out as early as possible to ensure availability and allow plenty of time to shape your ceremony together.
